Kazachinsky District (Russian: Каза́чинский райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the forty-three in Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia. It is located in the central portion of the krai and borders with Yeniseysky and Motyginsky Districts in the north, Taseyevsky District in the east, Bolshemurtinsky District in the south, and Pirovsky District in the west. The area of the district is 5,755 square kilometers (2,222 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Kazachinskoye.[1] Population: 11,427 (2010 Census preliminary results);[7] 12,732 (2002 Census);[8] 16,015 (1989 Census).[12] Population of Kazachinskoye accounts for 31.8% of the district's population.[8]

Geography

The district is located on the left bank of the Yenisei River.

History

The district was founded on April 4, 1924.[2]

Divisions and government

Administratively, the district is divided into fourteen selsoviets, which are municipally incorporated as rural settlements. The Chief Executive and Chairman of the District Council is Yury Ye. Ozerskikh.[2] As of 2010, the District Council consists of twenty-one deputies.
